CCG was born as a result of a broken system that afflicts healthcare in the US and other highly industrialized developed countries.
Healthcare in our country has grown in disproportionate ways, with a tremendous emphasis on developing leading-edge technology, profitable pharmaceutical R&D, and highly specialized medical care. These are great accomplishments but at the cost of losing control over its central pivot point – primary care.
The result of this uneven growth is reflected in significant gaps in frontline primary care availability and access.
Consequently, it has also reduced its emphasis on a healthy lifestyle, compromised early prevention of lifestyle-related illnesses, and fragmented coordination of care, negatively impacting our population’s quality of life.
As the level of complexity increases with modern medicine, the role of primary care in the coordination of care becomes fundamental by enabling patients to navigate confidently in a sea of confusion and providing effective guidance and education.
